Solar power management - efficient and scalable thanks to 2BIT

Solar21 is a professional and competent scale-up company with now 7 employees and offices in Bern and Zurich, which is fully committed to solar energy and offers its services and expertise in alternative power supply with sustainable added value throughout German-speaking Switzerland. As an independent Swiss electricity partner, Solar21 takes care of all aspects of its customers' electricity needs. Since 2018, around 50 projects have already been successfully realized for well-known major customers. Solar21's clear goal is to become Switzerland's largest independent electricity supplier in the next five years. We at 2BIT have the privilege of accompanying Solar21 on this journey.

Efficient ERP solution.

Anyone with such an ambitious goal also needs a powerful infrastructure, i.e. a scalable, efficient ERP system that can also be individually adapted to the customer's needs. "There are only a few ERP solutions in the Swiss energy market that meet our requirements. We deliberately decided against a conventional industry solution and opted for Odoo," says a satisfied Daniel Rey, Co-CTO of Solar21. “In addition to the low costs, we were particularly impressed by the modular structure and the efficient expansion options.”

Systems grow with the company

At the start of this collaboration, Solar21 was still a start-up company in its early stages. “We at 2BIT were given the great opportunity to develop the most important processes for Solar21 from scratch and map them in Odoo.” Only for the industry-specific meter-to-cash process (M2C) - i.e. from meter reading and billing to receivables management - were additional complex in-house developments necessary.

Just two years ago, Solar21 was sending out around 80 invoices a month; today, this figure is over 1,000 and is soon set to double. Due to the constant growth, regular further developments and the adaptation of processes and systems are necessary. With the help of 2BIT, Solar21 can grow in a relaxed and continuous manner, as we are constantly developing and implementing new, customized functions.

2BIT as a companion

Solar21 wants to further expand its successful model and ensure that even more clean energy flows. Selling over 40 GWh of electricity and supplying over 30 GWh of solar power - these are the impressive figures they are aiming for. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Solar21 on its way to the top of the Swiss solar power market and hope that it will achieve this with - and perhaps also thanks to - our comprehensive ERP system.
